Description
It is believed that all domestic ducks except for the Muscovy are derived from the wild Mallard. They are a small flying duck that make good mothers, hatching and raising 1-2 batches of ducklings a year. They will start flying at about 10 weeks, and take flight regularly by 16 weeks. It takes 14-16 weeks for the male mallards’ head to turn green and fill in their distinguishing coloring.
