We at Dunlaps’ are introducing the Steel Blue Nova as a comparable breed to our Blue Gem (currently unavailable). This breed is also known as Novogen’s Color Ash and was developed to be a dual-purpose bird. Novogen has been developing strong genetic traits in poultry since the late 1990s. All of their breeds have been created using well-known, heritage varieties. The Blue Steel Nova is a cross between Novogen’s bloodline of Rhode Island Red hen and their Ash rooster. The Ash rooster is an Andalusian cross. This combination creates a very robust bird, adaptable to all living environments, that is able to perform well under challenging conditions. If you are looking for an exceptional layer with unique plumage, we highly recommend you give the Nova a try!
