Our Olive Egger cross we will be using for the 2026 season is French Black Copper Marans and Cream Legbars. This cross is considered an F1 hybrid, meaning all eggs laid will be a lighter, sometimes speckled olive egg. Chicks will be sex-linked meaning day old chicks will be able to be sexed at close to 100% accuracy. Hens feather plumage ranges from solid black with a chance to have red accents in the head and neck all with an iridescent shimmer in the light. Roosters are barred with red accents throughout the body. Due to the nature of the cross some develop mini head crests and/or feathered legs while others do not. Their leg color consists of yellow, tan, gray, or black. Female chicks hatch out solid black while male chicks have a white dot on their head.
